The Taschen Posterbooks are of excellent quality. The six Van Gogh's given us here, for a very low price, are a nicely representative group. Primarily the most impressive factor is the accuracy with which the colors are reproduced. Having seen many in person, I am very critical of prints with poor to pathetic truth in color. We like them to the point of hanging all 6 in our home. The images are of the cafe at Arles-night, lane with cypresses, one of the sunflowers, one self-portrait, the bridge at Langlois and of course, the bedroom at Arles.
Regardless the amount of money you have to spend, definitely buy this little jewel as an adjunct. Or if you are tightly budgeted, what a buy!

In honor of Proposition 8 going before the Supreme Court, I decided to dedicate the month of April to reading LGBT books. This one was the first that I stumbled upon. I read other reviews on the book, as I usually do, before diving into this one. Some complain about the violence in the book. Initially, I had the same reaction. However, if you read it closely, the author is teaching a vital lesson here. Domestic violence within the LGBT commmunity is real and often overlooked. Those in such relationships should not feel that since they are same-sex that it is an equal playing field and that it wasn't that serious. That's what I took from that. Also, I loved the fact that the title could not have been better chosen. This book is actually a collection of stories. Each story is that of a different woman. Every single lesbian relationship/encounter/perspective/desires that you can think of is in this book. I'm an avid believer that we are weak as a people because of all our self-division. This book nails this as well. A few characters question the point of labels (stud, femme, tranny, etc.); I loved that it went that deep. Furthermore, I love how this book reads. It reads like a diary. Each story sounds so real. All of the lesbian-oriented books that I've ever read (excluding Anais Nin), are allll erotic. I know that is not all that being a lesbian consists of and I'm grateful that a contemporary author has finally captured the reality of such romances. Again, I enjoyed it and recommend it to all--even if simply for a deeper understanding into this lifestyle.

I read this book with one intention, to understand a culture that was different from my own. I have many lesbian friends and I wanted to have a deeper understanding of them, and their relationships. What I found in this book was beautiful. Every story was different. Every story helped me to look at the world differently. I felt the characters pains. I felt their struggles. I felt the love and passion that they had for their relationships. I thank the author for giving the world an inside look into a culture that many are curious about but are scared to look at and understand. Great job. I would definitely read more books from this author.

Amazing book for any salesman or saleswoman!

This book is the best book I have ever read on sales. It is written for insurance salesmen but can be related to sales of anything. I even related it to the days when I sold cutlery. Highly recommended to any salesperson who is looking to stop selling and start winning!!!

A little pricey for what you get

I'm not a seasoned sales guy, but I am a business owner that found the material repetitive and pretty basic. I thought the book could have been condensed in about half the space. It seems the going rate is $30 for this book (not much less for used) - so I had pretty high expectations, which fell a little short.

Perhaps I'm just a simple guy or not smart enough to glean all I should have from this book. I'll probably keep it in my library to re-read another time - but don't expect to get too much more out of it.

This is just my opinion... so it's worth just that :-)

Same as all his other books

I first read How To Get Your Competition Fired and loved it. I recently bought (and returned) The Wedge. It is almost an exact duplicate of How To Get Your Competition Fired. There are a few areas where he says things a bit differently but it's basically the same.

I have a feeling The Wedge for Financial Advisors is the same as well. He has one good idea and seems to be rehasing it with different titles, but it's all the same concept. I'd say to get How To Get Your Competition Fired and the Red Hot Introductions book and you'd be set.

Wonderful pocket guide for FP & Primary care providers & students

I own a multitude of clinical books and guides on Family Practice and Primary care. While some U.S. based providers may be concerned that it is written by a provider in Australia, it is highly useful in the U.S. medical setting as well (quite frankly, UK, Australian, and other Foreign GP's provide a deeper level of care than their U.S. counterparts, so Murtagh's books actually offer more...)

My most valuable resources (those I "go to" most often and which have provided the most wealth of knowledge, skill and technique for me while doing my FP rotations..) have been the "In a Page" guides by Kahan In A Page Medicine (In a Page Series) I own all of them, and my Murtagh's General Practice John Murtagh's General Practice. I was thrilled to discover Murtagh's pocket guide aka "companion handbook".

This little handbook will easily fit in a labcoat pocket and contains the most common subjects one may encounter in the primary care setting. The only thing that could make it better is if it were an app on my Android phone.

If you order this, know that mine came DHL from India (!), took about 10 days to arrive and required a signature for delivery. It has a plastic cover which hopefully will hold up, but otherwise seems of good quality.

If you are a Nurse Practitioner student, Physicians Assistant student, Intern or Resident doing Primary care or Family Practice rotations I highly recommend this pocket guide as well as the big text by Murtagh. They're easy to read, have practical, useful information & tips for the clinic setting that you'll actually value and use. Also pick up the "in a page" books for quick summaries of most anything you'll see in the varied settings (Medicine, OB, Pedi, etc). These will all continue to be ready references for me while I'm in practice.
